Our founder, Margarete Steiff, was a remarkable personality in many ways. Completely unusual for her time, she fought for her place in life as a young girl and became an independent entrepreneur despite health problems. The visions and ideals of our founder still shape our thoughts and actions today.

The pioneering work of her nephew Richard Steiff, who invented the Teddy bear in 1902, completed the family's spiritual legacy, which we carry through the ages and into an appreciative and sustainable future. The history of Margarete Steiff, Richard Steiff and Margarete Steiff GmbH remains inseparable thanks to the dedication and quality awareness of all employees.

We use organic cotton and recycled materials in many of our products. For our precious collectibles, we use high-quality, exclusive natural fibres made in our Steiff-Schulte weaving mill in Germany. Our repair service extends the lifespan of our products and conserves resources.
