This unusual mirror makes a wonderful addition to any bathroom or hallway and was made from a genuine window frame from the legendary SWISS Airbus 321 with the registration HB-IOC. After 27 years in service with Swissair and SWISS, the Airbus made its final landing in Zurich in 2022. The aeroplane has been transformed into the starting point for the SWISS Recraft Collection, which is the first SWISS aircraft upcycling project. You can now enjoy looking through an aircraft window while you carry out your morning skincare routine or do your hair: a mirror has been seamlessly fitted into the window seal, taking on the iconic form of the window. Thanks to the two attachment points at the back, the mirror can be effortlessly wall-mounted in one of two positions: horizontally or vertically.
HB-IOC: the iconic Airbus 321
The registration "IOC" originally referred to the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and for a year it was decorated with the Olympic rings. The Airbus 321 also bore the name of the city of Lausanne, where the IOC has its headquarters. Later, the aeroplane was renamed after St. Moritz, henceforth carrying the charm of this alpine resort throughout Europe. During its 27 years in regular service, the Airbus 321 transported over seven million guests and completed some 47,000 take-offs and landings. With over 73,000 flying hours and a total flight distance equivalent to 1,315 round-the-world trips or 137 voyages to the moon, every Upcycling product from this aircraft comes with an impressive history.
