This blend of malt and grain whiskys from over 100 barrels is symbolic of the skills of the Nikka Master Blender. Nikka's aim was to create an intense, highly flavoured whisky; the kind that only experts can taste directly from the cask. In the glass, it shines dark golden with a brown shimmer. The sophisticated bouquet combines notes of lilac, apricot, cloves and leather. This is complemented by hints of pepper and oak on the palate before aromas of ripe peach, caramelised apple and floral notes develop. In the long finish, marine notes as well as hints of wood and vanilla come into play.
