Since the 1950 s, the Sicilian bakery Pasticceria Fiasconaro has been making panettone by hand using traditional techniques; this involves a very long dough-making process, lots of eggs, a generous amount of butter and no artificial leavening agents. The Panettone Tradizionale is finished with honey and the regional dessert wines Marsala and Zibibbo. The carefully designed, colourful packaging makes it the ideal Christmas present.
