The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits wonderful aromas of blackberry, cassis and herby, spicy aromas such as liquorice, aniseed and melted chocolate. Its exceptional structure is underpinned by delicate acidity, soft, polished tannins and a slight mineral nuance. Flanked by aromas of dark fruits, this premium wine is beautifully balanced and definitely also suited for enjoying now.

A fascinating and totally unique cellar

Far Niente specialises in Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon and the crafting of dry wines from these grape varieties. An epic moment for the wine estate was the construction of its tunnels, a plan that been on the cards from the very beginning. In 1980, a 60-foot long tunnel was carved into rock, marking the start of a new winemaking era. Barrel maturation in caves allows for ageing of wines that would be almost unthinkable aboveground. Also, the constant temperatures and natural humidity ensure perfect ageing and storage. The cave system meanwhile comprises 40,000 square feet and accommodates around 2,500 oak barrels.
