For generations, they have topped the list of the most popular Bavarian delicacies: the original Münchner Weißwürste. The Münchner Weißwürste from Dallmayr are made with the greatest care and per good tradition by a master butcher. Containing at least 55% veal and made according to a special recipe, they are just the way the locals like them: tender, with a loose consistency and a characteristically mild flavour. Served with sweet mustard, a pretzel and freshly tapped beer, Weißwürste are the pinnacle of Bavarian cuisine.
Global Weißwurst breakfast
Today, these particular sausages are known all over the world as a symbol of hearty Bavarian cuisine. Interestingly, Weißwürste originated from an emergency situation: in 1857, butcher's apprentice Sepp Moser was working at the local restaurant "Zum ewigen Licht" when he ran out of mutton casings for veal sausages. With pork casings being the only alternative available, he decided to heat the sausages in hot water instead of frying them for fear that the casings would burst - and so a culinary legend was born.
