Outdoor equipment from fair and transparent production
TATONKA is a German outdoor equipment supplier from Dasing/Bavaria. They manufacture back packs, bags, luggage- and travel accessories, tents, cookware and clothing. Production is carried out according to European manufacturing standards and in compliance with high social standards in the company's own SA8000-certified factories in Vietnam.
The TATONKA brand was founded in 1993. At the same time, the family business, which had been in existence since 1980, was renamed Tatonka GmbH. Based in Dasing near Augsburg, TATONKA is managed in the second generation by Andreas Schechinger.
TATONKA operates a transparent manufacturing process. which is unique in the outdoor industry. Open Factory means: Every Friday, the Mountech Co. Ltd. factory in Ho Chi Minh City can be visited while production is running.
TATONKA sets very high standards in the selection of materials and in the processing of its products. They should last as long as possible in order to minimize the ecological footprint. In 2020, the GREEN by Tatonka label was introduced. In an ongoing process, it identifies products that use sustainable and resource-saving materials.
