Guilloches are ornamental patterns of fine, engraved lines traditionally used by jewellers; on this fountain pen they are very eye-catching. The barrel is first embellished and then further refined by hand before the rhodium plating is added to give it its fine sheen. The cap with its solid, spring-loaded clip and the other metal elements are also rhodium-plated as is the handmade 18-carat gold nib with its iridium point. The pen can be used with ink cartridges or filled straight from an ink bottle using the converter.
